My husband wants to adopt my son from a previous marriage. I contacted my ex and asked him for his concent but he denied it. My husband has been providing for my son since he was a year old. My ex does pay child support but makes little effort in making contact. Would we be a able to petition on lack of emotional support? Washington state

You can get an attorney and try, but there is very little chance of getting the adoption with him paying the support as ordered.
