My puppy doesn't want to walk
We hae a 4 month old puppy, we just got him 2 week ago. Lab mix
He is very active and so far has liked the walks, with no major problem on the leash.
Since yesterday he doesn't want to walk anymore and he just puts the brakes on and doesn't move.
It caught us a little bit un prepared for that because he has just been extremely obedient and sweet, walking by our side and not pulling too much.
We have been doing long walks, maybe 2 hour a day.
Would that mean he is tired? It's a discipline problem?
I don't want to pull him, definitely, but what would be a good solution?

If he doesn't want to move, do not force him. It will only make it more negative of an experience for him. Something negative for him probably happened on the walk, perhaps too tired, maybe he was scared of something, but it's hard to say. You may want to give it a rest for a while, but I'd say put the leash on him, be really nice and maybe lure him around with treats. Like if he goes a short distance, give him a treat. Reassure him a lot. Tug him slowly at times but give him lots of positive reinforcement while he is on the leash. Also keep the walks shorter for now.

Does he like car rides? You could try taking him in the car to a park and see how he responds to that first before trying walking again.

This is a long walk for a puppy - a very long walk. I'm sure he likes the walks, just not walks that last two hours.

I'd take him on short walks, not yank or tug at the leash.

    No, it's not a discipline problem. He's a baby!

If nothing happened on the walks that scared him I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, make the walks interesting. I squat and pet my dog or hug him, just to reassure him, when we're out and about.
