    AC not blowing cool air
The capacitor on my AC unit blew the other night. I removed it and brought it to the local Grainger supply store to get another. They did not have the same brand, but all the specs were correct in terms of voltage and ratings, etc. Size was a little shorter and fatter though. I just figured it was because of a different manufacturer. Any way, I replaced it, and the unit kicked on fine, but now it is not blowing cool air. It was like an icebox in the house prior to it blowing. I already switched the thermostat to auto to ensure that the compressor was kicking on and not just the fan. I touched the lines going freon lines going in and out and neither is cold. So I'm now thinking it is a freon issue. But why then was it so cold before it blew? Could the system being low on freon cause a capacitor issue?
