    Documents
    Hi,
Go to Start/Run, then type in MSCONFIG , then press OK.
    Click on the StartUp tab.
Look to the left of that window to see all the programs starting up when you boot up your computer!
You can left click on any item, to uncheck it, then click on Apply, then OK, then re-boot the computer.

Look for one that says something to the effect of either "my documents", "word", etc.

If you uncheck something you really need, you can always go back and re-check it.
    Best wishes,
    fredg

It sounds like some corruption in the registry that is causing the My Documents folder to open up when you start your PC. I have run into this problem before. Unfortunately, I do not remember the fix at this moment but this at least gives you a direction to look into.

I know this has happened to others but I have seen no definitive method of resolution.
