Yes. Started as a starter issue. Wouldn't engage every time. Unplugged and replugged starter and that worked. Started truck like 8 times flawlessly to test my work and it stopped firing on the 9th. Changed out the before mentioned parts and no luck. Yet.

Greater than 90% of all crank but won't start situations are electrical-related, not fuel. Here are my thoughts:
. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM).
. Check/replace the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting, if there's any question about the integrity of the switch.
. The fuel pump is likely fine, if you can hear it run when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

The starter motor cranks every time, right, when the ignition switch is turned to Start?

Correct. When I turn the key the starter cranks flawlessly.

Good. I think replacing the ICM will solve the problem. Verify, however, that the Check Engine Light comes on and goes off normally, when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

Chevy C1500 rear end
[ 4 Answers ]
I've got a Chevy C1500 with a 10 bolt, 3.08 ratio rear end. It's a 2WD, 5.7L engine. I want to swap it with something with less mileage. Probably a later model. Is there a compatible rear end even if its not the same ratio?
