    Ugly deck stain
We just purchased a house and the deck is stained a country blue color. I assume it's stain because it's faded and no paint is chipping off. Is there any way to change the color of the deck? We'd like to stain it a dark reddish brown. We're not sure if we can just stain over it or if we have to strip the stain that's on there? If anybody can help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

You can strip the old stain but it won't be 100% removed. You can buy an opaque stain that will cover the old color that remains. Power washing with a good stripper should be done and allowed to completely dry, several days.
