    Body Art? Tongue piercings?
    Hey all,
I recently got my tongue pierced (about 3 days ago) the first two days were the worst! Today, I was finally able to eat without very much pain. Although, there is a hard, knot like feeling INSIDE my tongue around the barbell. Note: I've been cleaning it as recommended, non-alcohol mouth wash, saltwater after every meal or anything that's not water. I've also noticed my tongue is white (I've been told its just from cleaning it so offen) and my saliva is extra sticky.. Lol. Has anyone experienced these things after getting their tongue pierced? Am I just paranoid? Any educated answers will be very much appreciated! :)

Hey, my cousin got her tongue pierced a few months ago... The knot inside your tongue is normal, it just takes a while to go away if you're cleaning it right and regularly. The 'extra sticky saliva' I'm not too sure about though. Maybe that's just from playing with it so much (if you do). Hope this was helpful.

Thanks! Just knowing that this knot will go away is very helpful. Lol, I don't play with it at all. I think that the sticky saliva could be from lack of fluids, because it hurt to drink. Thank you for your reply! :)

Hi I got my tongue pierced 5days ago it doesn't really hurt now but the swelling has not gone down. Which makes it hard to eat and it feels like its burnt still on one side. Shouldn't the swelling have gone down by now. I'm getting a bit worried now

I had my tongue pierced for about 3 days now. The swelling is pretty bad but I can still talk a little bit. The food eating isn't that bad but I still smoke. I make dure to rinse my mouth after every cig and after everything I eat and drink... unless its water or ice. But I think I'm over washing...
