    Very slow MTD 14.5 mower
I was just given a MTD riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton 14.5 motor. I noticed that there is no gears but just "forward" and "Reverse". I go with it and just put the throttle all the way up, but it still goes slow. Equivalent to a 2 on a 5 speed mower. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
My guess is the previous owner replaced the drive belts with non-MTD belts. The original belts are custom lengths/widths.
    Peace,
