    Long term sick
I'm on the sick with a fractured shoulder, my employer is presureising me to return to work before I've even had a scheduled operation to correct the fracture.
I have submitted sick notes covering my absence, can my employment be terminated?

If you don't have a contract or union, probably yes - it's employment at will which means you can be terminated at any time for pretty much no reason.

Depending on the number of employees and where you are you MIGHT be protected if you are terminated when you are injured/sick.

Your employer is being foolish - if you go back to work and injure or re-injure your shoulder it's a Workers Comp case (in the US). You would collect from WC.
