    Whirlpool top load washer won't drain spin
    Won't drain and no spin. But it did before we change the coupler which was broken,so on first it did not move. New coupler did not help,so we also put new pump. Transmition is turning,lid switch works. What also might be wrong ?

    I hope they help. It sounds like you have a bad transmission.

Transmition is turning,lid switch works,timer is approaching,no clogs,block,hoses are not the case. How to find out if transmition might be the broken ? Thank you !

    Thank you for your response. I did not say clearly that after new coupler the washer is working - agitate,but new trouble with no drain,spin. What made you think that transmition might be bad ? Thank you !

    Not really the transmission, but there are some pads like brake pads that are on a clutch to make it spin. The problem of not draining makes it more confusing. You need to get in there and take a look at it so you can see the problem. You should be able to check to see if it's stopped up, too.     You have solenoids to control the agitate and spin cycles that you can check with a meter. Plus, some machines have a suds valve operated by a solenoid. The book shows you how to check things step by step with an ohm meter. Without a meter you cannot do much.

    Just a thought... unplug washer from power and recheck all the connections are hopefully where they were before you started working on it. Press them all on tight and then recheck the pump wires also once again. You might have pulled the wire off the pump some how. Easy to do in tight dark spaces.
    Plug in again and try again and run a cycle to see what works.
    Could the pump be installed backwards?
    The worst can happen is divorce, just ask me.
