    Dirt in Laundry sink
Hi, I have noticed a bunch of dirt inside my laundry sink after doing laundry. The sink is in my basement and my washing machine water drains into that sink. What does this mean?

It means you have dirt in you laundry. Too much of it and you going to be buying a new one.

    Hi Doug,

Are you just being funny? My laundry is pretty normal from just daily wear. If I had been washing something full of dirt I would not have asked the question. :D Do you really think its from a dirty washer? I thought maybe it was coming up from the sink drain. Today I think I may just turn the washer on for a full cycle with no soap and see what happens in the sink.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

I do plumbing construction too. On those days where I am digging I get a little bit of dirt on me. I usually just shake the dirt off. But last year I had to buy another washing machine because it collected at the bottom of the washing machine and stopped it up and burned up my pump.

    Doug,

Ok... My washer is pretty old. I really appreciate your helpfulness. Its actually a relief to think it might just be the washer, because I live in a really old home and I was thinking I had plumbing problems.

Have a Great Day My Friend.
