    You enter the capital loss carry-over from 2010 together with your 2011 gains and losses into the capital loss carryover worksheet contained in the instructions for Schedule D: see page D-11: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040sd.pdf

    If you are using tax software, the carry-over loss should be automatically transferred to the appropriate worksheet when you import the 2010 return into the 2011 software.

    If it is FIRST time you are using the software, you have to find the worksheet in the software which holds the carry-over loss.
