I have to wonder if I am the only that thinks of these things, but does anyone else just start to wonder what the real point of all this is? And please don't give me a religious answer for I am an atheist and do not believe those things, honestly I want to know, why should I work for the rest of my life to make a living to die at the end of it? Someone please enlighten me

Well from a religious view the answer is obvious. From a non religious view, it's really anyone's guess. You probably answered it for yourself. Maybe you're a pessimistic type of person who finds life to be just a waiting period till death. But an optimistic view on life would be just to have fun and enjoy the little precious life you have left. I mean in the end, we all die so why not live life a little and have fun? The destination is the same for all of us as far as death anyway. No one will get out of it. Make people around you happy. Be a good person and people will be good to you. Do what makes you happy. Be a role model. As far as work goes, besides working to make a living, you should look at work as a way to measure yourself worth. Most people work in the service of others meaning they work to "please" a customer or a boss. If you're a good hard worker than you are admired and respected. People will acknowledge you and that alone should make you feel like you matter in this entire world.

Your question has nothing to do with religion.

You work to make a better life for yourself and others, if you are married and have children. Everyone most assuredly feel a sense of satisfaction for a job well done, a personal goal achieved.

I think he meant he didn't want a religious answer. For example: "The point of life is to live by God's standards so one may reach heaven."
