    Depends on where - it's assets, not asses.

    Please stop starting new threads, answer your own question to add more info

    But it all depends, was there a will, how was the house deeded, who was the insurance policy to.
    If the house was owned jointly, with right of survivor, then she gets the house, if she was listed as beneficiary on policy she gets it.
    We do not have enough info to know any answer for you

    Well, it could be asses. Perhaps the deceased person owned a herd of donkeys.

    Or it could be that the father was cremated, and OP wants his remains.

    Who knows?

    First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. This can lead to confusion. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

    Second, if you have any follow-up please use the Reply or Answer options, don't keep starting threads.

    Finally if you want our help you need to explain in more detail.

    Did your father leave a will? How long ago did he die?

    In IL;
    a) If there is a surviving spouse and also a descendant of the decedent: 1/2 of the entire estate to the surviving spouse and 1/2 to the decedent's descendants per stirpes.
    Heirs - Illinois Rules of Descent & Distribution - Chicago Estate Lawyer - Illinois Heirs Law

    So you and your siblings could be entitled to half his estate. However, if the house was held jointly between them, it could have gone to her outside the estate. If he had her as the beneficiary of his insurance policy, that would also go to her.

    So its very hard to answer you without more info about the nature of the assets (not asses) and how they were held.
