My knee popped out of place twice at work today. I have never had any knee problems before, other than some swelling/pain if I am on my feet to long. Both times I was returning to a standing position from a squatting position without anything in my hands. The first time, I heard "pop! pop! pop!" and my knee dislocated outwards and I fell to the ground. It popped back in on the way down. I cried for a couple minutes and then was ready to work again. The second time it popped out and it was excruciating. I couldn't move. I had to physically push it back. Work sent me home to rest it. I am wondering what I should do to prevent this from happening again, what caused it, and what further steps I should take. I am a 20 year old female in Sauk County, Wisconsin.
