Hot water heater and furnace not working
I have a gas hot water heater and furnace. Age of both is almost 8 yrs. The gas supply line comes in through the basement tees off in my mechanical room. This tee goes down to the heater and furnace. The main gas supply reduces at the tee and continues to the gas fireplace.

No hot water this morning. So, I checked the pilot light on the hot water heater and saw it was out. I followed the procedure to re-ignite the pilot without any luck. I then tried the furnace and noticed its pilot did not come on either. Finally checked the fireplace and it works fine. So it appears my gas supply is fine.

Since we had a bad storm last even, I also checked ensure that the cap on the heater/furnace flue was still in place.

Could this issue be due to water making its way down the flue?
