    CHANGING blades
I changed the blades on a Huskee 42" 18.5 Hp had a hard time getting one of the blades off, now the blades will not turn, the lever goes down like it should.
What could be the problem? Is it possible the bearing or spindle got messed up while trying to get the blade off? There is a scratching noise when you turn the blades by hand it seems a little hard to turn by hand.

    Hi,
Disconnect the belt from the engine pulley and engage the deck. Now check the spindles for freedom of movement. The scratching sound you hear is liable to be the spindle brake. Something is out of place if that is not it.
