    Electrical dilemma
How can I tell if my receptacle which is tied to a 20 amp breaker can handle
A 20amp receptacle? Can I use a 30 foot 12 gauge extension cord on a 15 amp machine or would the extra "load" cause overheating ?Would it matter if the receptacle was 15 or 20 amps ?Thank you for your reply

Wasn't this posted last month? Please reread your question. If it is a 20 amp breaker and 12AWG,it is rated for 20 amps. What kind of "machine ".

What do you mean by extra "load"? A heavier cord does not add any load by itself. It usually allows you to carry more load on the cord.

This is your second post on the same topic, and I get the impression that you actually have no idea what you are even asking.
