I discovered a soft patch on the upper gum in my daughter

My daughter is 6 years old. Yesterday I discovered a very soft patch in her gum. Its on the right side of the upper jaw. It feels add if there is nothing beneath it. I am worried. She said its painful when I press it. Please let me know if this is common and its nothing serious. You Mary reach me at >Removed<
