I am trying to install a ceiling fan with a light to a light fixture. I only have the black, white and bare wire. There is no black & white wire. How do I install the fan/light fixture?

I have a black wire, white wire, bare wire but the instructions and the kit have an additional black/white striped wire.

You attach the black and black/white from the fan to the black in the ceiling.
Then white to white, greens to bare.

You cannot control the fan separate from the light from the wall switch. The wall switch is either on or off power to the whole fan. You choose what you want via the pull chains.
