Hair Disaster
After years of highlighting my hair it became almost entirely blonde and I decided to have my hair tinted into a wheat type color and start highlights again. However, the tint my stylist used turned my hair to a very dark brown, which I hate. The salon suggested that I come back and put a lot of highlights in it. My concern is that I don't think that I'll like the contrast of dark brown hair to light streaks. A friend suggested that I put 40% hydrogen in shampoo to strip color. I'm just trying to get a natural wheat type base color for streaking. Kind of like jennifer anistins color. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't go messing with things at home, it can become pretty complicated and you could fry your hair. Your color should fade out eventually but for now when you get it highlighted they can put something in after (I forget what it is called but the stylist should know) that will blend the highlights in with your hair. And by the next time you go after that you should be seeing the results you want.

Sweetie, if you're not happy with the color, then you should go back to the salon and let them correct their mistake. If you attempt to fix it yourself, it could make matters worse. Don't be afraid to go back. The hairstylist can apply a high lift color over your highlights to make them a few shades lighter without putting more highlights in your hair.

I wouldn't try that type of thing at home. I tried to strip my hair with bleach and ended up with burns all over my scalp and hair breaking off at the ends.. Go back to the hairdresser and demand they fix it, after all they coloured your hair too dark to start with. Other than that, go to another hairdresser who'll listen to what you want first time!

I formally had my hair semi-permantly died red. On my last visit I told my hair stylist to go blonde, so we did, she bleached it and put toner in it twice, but on some parts it looks the colour of hay, very yellow. I was thinking of just using at home dye kits to dye it either dark or lighter, but...
