No you may not. Assuming this was a closed adoption, you can be arrested and charged with interference with custody of the child and put into jail.

And how DARE you talk to this child without getting permission first, you are the worst level of parent I can think of. This child is not yours, and you should have never contacted the child, most likely the parents of this child will get a order of protection against you to protect the child.

You have no rights to this child what so ever. You can no more talk or see this child as you could see my child.

I don't know where this is but "finding" the child may very well be against the law - the child is definitely under 18.

And I agree - going behind the backs of the child's parents? Disgusting at best.

Posts like this frighten people who are considering adoption and, once again, it's important to make the point that the vast majority of adoptions do NOT involve problems like this.

I hate to jump on you further, but I so much agree with the other responses.

Your post indicates that you contacted the child directly and her parents (and THEY are her parents) told her she cannot see you. You are lucky they did not file charges against you.

I'm wondering where you got the idea that to do this. Because if someone told you to they gave you very bad advice.

And how do you know this is your bio child? What did you do to find her? To confirm she is your bio child? And how old is she now? Are you the mother or father? Also ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Look I understand you miss her, you don't give us any background about the circumstances of her adoption. So we don't know what you went through. But nothing justifies what you did. If you want to give us more details we may be able to help you deal with the future.
