    Pool skimmer not suctioning
This is our first in ground pool (the house is not new and neither is the pool) It has two skimmers in the deep end. The one on the left has some suction (not a lot) and the one on the right (furthest from the pump) does not appear to draw water at all. The baskets tend to just float in the holes off to the side of each skimmer. We have a pine tree dropping needles and lots of pollen and other floating debris otherwise the pool seems clean. We have a polaris robotic vac that works fine for the bottom. We have a Nautilaus NSS48 DE Pump. We run it approx. 5 hours per day in the summer. Would appreciate some guidance in dealing with this issue. There always seems to be a fine layer of "stuff" on the surface unlike the pools of our friends who have skimmers that pull in water.

Can I replace the skimmer in my above ground pool with a through the wall skimmer? My current skimmer is one that hangs over the side. It is not a blow up ring pool. It has metal posts and frame that support it. It does not have metal sides.
