    I fell & banged my knee, very swollen, how and when to apply ice?
    I landed on my knee when I fell, now very swollen. Nothing broken, I'm sure. Just not sure how often and for how long to apply ice

    Now. 20 minutes, 20 minutes off. Be sure your skin and the ice do not touch. Put the ice in a plastic or cloth bag and have a folded washcloth or towel between your knee and the ice bag.

My Knee feels swollen looks normal, does not hurt except tightens as it bends, no problem running or walking or standing. Swollen feeling reduces after days of rest and returns with every workout( mostly running )
