    California prorated rent laws
My Son and Daughter recent signed a leased for a apartment near their campus.
They cannot move in until September 19, the start of the school year. But the rent is due September 1st. I asked the employee, if the rent will be prorated and she said no.

My children are getting "ripped off" for 19 days. Is there any California statues coving this type of issue?

    Thanks

They signed the lease? They should have made this a provision of the lease. Why can't they move in? Their choice or the unit?
