    Standard bank account
    My account its closed unaware and my salary has been deposited there! What should I do now?

    Why was the account closed? If it was closed before the deposit then the deposit should have been rejected and your employer should reissue you a check. If not, go to the bank and see how to withdraw the deposited funds.

    The acoount has been closed before the deposit and I tried to withdwraw and it says I should contact my branch.

    If the account was closed they shouldn't have accepted the deposit. Did you check with your employer?

    First a bank account just does not close itself , who closed it and why, I will assume you went in and closed your account.

    If it is closed you can not draw money out.

    Your direct deposit will be returned ( may take a week or two to process) back to the company who tried to deposit it. So talk to the people who sent the money, once it is returned to them, they can issue new payment

    keitu - I wonder if perhaps the you had just recently initiated direct deposit and gave details to your employer for an old closed account? If so, then talk to the payroll department at work and ask them to reissue the pay as a paper check to you. As noted by others the direct deposit would have been rejected, and the payroll department should be aware that the money was returned to them by the bank.
