Can my Fiancé adopt my daughter
Hello I am trying to find out how my fiancé can adopt my daughter. My daughter is 4 years old her father was in the picture the first few months of her life but has not attempted to contact her for the past three 1/2 years. Besides my daughter he has a 15 year old daughter which he has never been in her life either. This man has never paid child support on either of these girls and has never tried to contact them.

I'll be getting married very soon and my fiancé wants to adopt my daughter how easy or how hard will this be. My daughters biological father is not on my daughters birth certificate. In the past I tried to contact my daughters biological father but had no results its like he fell off the face of the earth. His 15 year old daughters mother has tried to locate him to claim child support but no where to be found. On the other hand the child support office called her telling her that if she wanted child support she had to tell them where he was at something we don't know. She says that he might be in jail will that make the process easier for my fiancé to adopt my daughter if he has never been in his 15 year olds life and my 4 year olds life?
Obviously he is not a fit father and does not care about these girls.

    Thank you

I'm not really sure-but I'll give you my 2 cents anyway-
I would think that your fiancé would be able to adopt her without having to contact him because he's not on the BC and you can't find him, not to mention he's never been around anyway. But I'd talk to an attorney that deals with family issues just to be sure.
Wish I could be of more help-Good Luck!

You'll need to demonstrate to the court that you've made every good faith attempt to locate the father but without success. Once you convince the court that the dad is nowhere to be found then it shouldn't be a problem.
