This is kind of odd but me and my friend are both twelve and apparently one day this girl was going through my friends backpack on the bus and she had found pads and said how gross it was I don't ride her bus but the girl had told me that she carried pads with her . I have no idea why but I can't look at her the same way as I used to I mean probably 50% of my friends need pads/tampons but I never really thought of it that way and I can still look at my other friends the same way but since I know she needs them I just can't see her as the same girl and I know once I get my first period it won't be so weird but who knows when that'll happen so for the time being do you know of how to forget at deal with knowing that about her?

If you and this other girl think pads are gross, all I can say is snap out of it. Is toilet paper gross? You are old enough to use self discipline. Go buy a box of pads and a box of tampons, because you will be needing one of the other very soon. Both if you have a heavy flow. If the idea of menstruating is gross too, it's time to do some reading and talking to older girls or women like your mother to ask questions.

Its not that I think it is gross it's just that it's weird knowing that stuff about your friend like that and I don't believe she knows the girl went around telling people and she probably doesn't think I know about that it's just weird knowing your friends on that much of a personal level at this age I just want to be able to see her the same way.

Hmm, from what I know its not uncommon for developing girls to compare notes, show each other how they are developing etc.

You may be a private person, but not everyone is. I don't see any reason this should affect the way you view your friend.

On the other hand the girl that rummaged through someone else's backpack and is spreading personal info about them, is rude and boorish and needs a talking to.

If you told her it was gross and have treated her bad since then, you may have lost a good friend, since you are so immature right now.

I haven't said anything to her about this and the girl who looked through her back pack is a jerk who thinks everyone is her friend but she's really annoying. And I know that lots of girls do talk about personal stuff like that but that particular group of friends we don't talk about anything of that nature. It's just weird for me knowing her on that much of a personal level when we have never talked about anything of that subject.
