Can someone work within 1-2 miles of their old workplace?
    Hi everyone,

I am an owner of a beauty salon in Southern California. Recently, someone who worked for me quit and decided to work at a nearby salon. The salon is only 5 minutes walk from mine. I only found out about this when one of my customers told me that she contacted her to let her know that she works at that place. Apparently, she has a lot of my customers' phone numbers and have been contacting them. I want to ask if there's anything I can do to stop this? Is what she doing legal? Unfortunately, when she was working for me, there was no written contract. Since there is no contract that prevent her from doing so, does that mean I cannot do anything to her when she's working so close and trying to take my customers away?

    Thank you in advance!

As there was no contract to cover things like this, there's nothing you can do about it.
