I have been dating this girl for a year now and up until the last few months everything has been excellent. Over the last few months we have been arguing with each other almost every weekend. We have both agreed that the arguments are over very simple and meaningless topics. An example was this past weekend when she invited a girlfriend to the lake with me and a buddy. I became frustrated because she was spending more time with her than me. I did call her out and acted a fool in front of her and her friend. Later I apologized to the both of them.

We have both aggravated each other with similar arguments recently. I am an only child and feel like I may require too much attention sometimes. We have hung out the past two days and everything has gone well between us until today. Long story short she finally came out and said that she was confused, emotional, and wanted to know what I wanted to do about our relationship. She said she loved me, doesn't want anyone else in her life, doesn't know what to do, needs some time, and doesn't want to hurt my feelings.

She has been through a lot in her life and it is hard for her to express her feelings verbally. The other week I asked her if she needed some time away and she said she didn't want to take a break between us. She then asked what I wanted to do about our relationship and I told her that if she needed time then that was fine. According to her mother she has never loved anyone as much as me. Our personalities are so much alike and I believe I have really aggravated her with these arguments.

I love this girl to death and want to be with her. It just doesn't make sense because we still laugh and talk all the time.. but somehow have been running into these stupid little arguments lately. What should I do? Does she love me as a friend or boyfriend. Thanks

Make an agreement to stop arguing, and when to just shut up when it gets heated and out of control. Arguing is no fun, and disagreements requires compromise, not emotions and trying to out point each other.
