I'm 13 in love with an 18 year old guy.
I turned 13 last month. The guy I like turned 18 yesterday. He’s my brother's friend and he goes to my church. His smile is devilish and contagious. He’s honestly one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He plays the drums and the guitar. He tall and has a 6 pack. If I do say so myself, he's hot. I’ve known him for 1 yr. and 4 months. I’ve liked him for about a year now. I didn't even tell my closest friend until last week because I was hoping I’d get over him.
I know it would and should never happen now because 1. He’s too old for me now and 2. I’m not allowed to date until I’m sixteen.
One of the only reasons I haven't given up liking him is because my bff's parents are 4 yrs. And 11 months apart and are happily married. But let's say I still liked him in 5 years, would a relationship between an 18 yr. old and 23 yr. old frighten you? And say we were dating and got married, would it be weird for a 22 yr. old and 27 yr. old to be married?
PS he knows me and says hi to me but he only sees me as his friend's baby sister, which is how it should be. I don’t want you thinking he's some weird pedo
Tell me want you think.

Well you certainly got your head together more than most young women your age. The age difference now is a pretty big deal but when your older, say 18, not so much. I'm 31 myself, dating a 26 year old.

The age difference when older is no big deal but trust me: once you hit 18, this guy will be a distant memory!

I merged these two threads. You will get over him. When school starts again or as you meet people over the summer, this guy will fad.
It's wise that you realize he is too old

At your age this is definitely a big no no, and you seem to know that.
Right now that 5 year age difference may as well be 20 years. You're still a child, he's legally an adult.
But, when you're 20, it's not a big deal at all.
So wait. If you still like him when you're 20, and he likes you, then date. But, I have to tell you, from experience, it's unlikely that you'll even remember his name by the time you're 20. You're 13, an age for crushes. They feel like the real thing, and hurt like the real thing, but they're far from being real.
Wait 5 or more years. You'll see what I mean. :)

I thought this would be interesting to discuss.
We all use love so much, we could say we love someone, then the next moment, we say we love our car, or wed love a big mac.
I was watching this interesting video, in which this guy explained that the hebrews had 3 words for love.
