Of course you can be in trouble. You LIED to the Police and probably lied on your Affidavit. You don't drop the charges - that's up to the DA. He might, he may not.

And now the speech - Exaggerated? You said he choked you but he didn't? That's not exaggerating. That's lying.

You have no idea how many people are choked and call the Police and are so afraid that they try to withdraw from the proceeding. You have no idea how many women are afraid to call because maybe, just maybe, "he'll" walk away.

Your have done a terrible disservice to any woman who IS abused and the Police either take her complaint lightly or not at all because of women who lie about abuse in order to get what they want.

Yes, you can be charged by the Police for your part in these charges.

You are aware that perjury can land you in jail. Are you aware the next time your kids might be seeing mom in a coffin? Or Intensive care... or eating out of a straw? It happens way too often.. so before you get snippy... keep in mind WE see this for what it is... and tell you like it is.

THe police have medical records.. photos.. and they can convict on that alone...

But then... you can lie and end up in jail along with him and your kids in foster care... if you think that's better somehow.

If he grabbed you by the shoulders.. then there wouldn't be photos supporting a choking would there be? They do have those don't they..

If the police pursued this there was enough evidence it really happened... that they saw themselves. And they ARE trained to see what most people might not.

I hope your "mixed emotions" and "sadness" and not wanting your family "to break" and "shock" don't cause some other woman not to be believed and end up in a coffin - or on life support.

You bet the DA will take it from there.

And your husband is OK with you getting him arrested for something he didn't do? Next time he won't grab you by the shoulders. He'll grab you by the throat. Once.

You know why rape victims weren't believed for a very long time? Because women had "morning after" regret (it wasn't rape, it was consenual but that's hard to admit) OR women were drinking and couldn't remember if it was consensual or something else. Or they had the wrong guy. Same with abuse. He's sorry, she's forgiven, she's battered or dead the next time.

You have really set back women's rights by about a hundred years. Me? I hope the DA prosecutes you.

And, yes, I was the adult victim of rape and the Police questioning (including what I wore, said and did) was almost worse than the rape itself. I probably shouldn't even be answering you. I see no gray in this instance - I see black and white.

    You're the black.
