Moving UK to US
We are selling our house in the UK and moving to the US after 20 years. How is the best way to get my equity (more than $100,000) to the US to put as a downpayment on a house in the US?
Also, I am a US citizen. My wife got a green card when we lived in the US 20 years ago. Does she have to get a new one? What is her immigration status if we are moving to the US (she has dual UK and Australian citizenship)? And finally, does anyone know the best and cheapest way to ship our stuff to the US? We are only taking a few pieces of furniture, most of our things can go into boxes (but there will be a lot of them). Thanks for bearing with all of my questions but as you can see, this is all very new to us. |
