    Urine alcohol testing
I recently had a urine drug screen at my doctor's office. I didn't realize they were testing for alcohol. Admittedly I am a more than occasional drinker, but not daily and never more than 2 drinks before dinner. My score was 5000. According to my doctor the "trace" score is 500. How bad is 5000 and what does it mean?

5000 is very low. A reading that could easily result from 1 or 2 drinks within a 24 hour period. All that can be determined from an EtG/EtS test is that you may have consumed some amount of alcohol within the last few days. It is not specific as to time or amount of consumption.

NOTICE: Any person or entity that is subjected to or relies on EtG testing should read this Advisory issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services, September 2006 and remains in effect as of date of this posting. Copy available here > US DHHS Advisory
