[Aussie chick]

My boyfriend and I had a 5 year on/off relationship which involved living together. He broke up with me, and I moved to another town. He then had a very intense short relationship for 2 months, broke up with her and then began contacting me. We talked every few days, and then he came to visit me at Christmas for a week. After he returned to his own town, he still text and called me then, then stopped completely. I found out from a mutual friend that he has a new girlfriend and has moved in with her, but he has commenced contacting me again. He called me a week ago, and when I didn't answer the call he then text me. I sent him a text with a? and he text me back that he was "just saying hello". Why would he be wanting to make contact with me if he has moved on. I haven't initiated any further contact and neither has he.

Confused
