Hi, I'm 18 years old and in late April 2012 I was caught stealing from Walmart in Ontario. It was a very stupid thing for me to do and I fully regret it.

I was taken to the backroom by two loss prevention officers, they read me my rights and had me sign the 'Notice of Apprehension' form as well as the 'Notice of Prohibiting Entry' form which states that I am banned from Walmart for a year. The two loss prevention officers were very easy-going and even told me that I was the first very cooperative person that they have ever apprehended. I asked what would be happening after I finished signing the forms and they said that since it was my first offence, Peel Police would send me a letter for a court date but that I would be able to do the Diversion Program. They also told me that this offence would not show up on any criminal records search and that it would only be seen if I chose to become a cop. A week after that incident I got a call from Peel Police giving me a warning and asking me what had happened that day. I explained what happened and asked the officer when I would receive this letter and he had no idea what I was talking about. He said that I wouldn't be receiving any letters from them and that this phone call would be the last that I would hear from them about this offence. It's been two months now and I still haven't received any letters..
I'm not sure whether that officer was right and that I would not have to have a court date or deal with any charges, fines etc. Or if it's just taking a reallllllllllllly long time to get this so-called letter.

Any source of help would be greatly appreciated!
