    Has anyone had crown lengthening?
Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone has had crown lengthening on their front teeth, not a molar. If so, how are the results - how does it look, how does it feel?

I had veneers made by a dentist who placed them way too high, i.e. right up against the bone. Long and painful story short, I had them re-made by a different and much better dentist. He left a little more space at the crown, which feels much better but there still is a width impingement and it still is a uncomfortable, though less so. My gums are uneven too, so a crown lengthening would potentially improve the aesthetics, but the discomfort is a more important issue for me to try to resolve.

At this point I'm a little wary of what this would end up looking like. If the doctor removes some bone, will the gums shrink up too much and leave my mouth looking bad unnatural? Am I better off leaving well enough alone, and just dealing with a little discomfort?

If anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear about it.

    Thanks!
