Book from high school
I read a book in high school that was about an orphan and in their society everyone was given a number as their name. He always referred to himself as we and us because their society believe that the whole was greater than one person. He escapes he society with a woman and come across a library and they learn of past generations use of I and me. I forget how it goes from there
