    I changed out a 13hp with a 16man hp briggs&stratton!
    I changed out a 13hp hp briggs&stratton with a 16man hp briggs&stratton! The 13text hp only had a yellow wire coming out from behind the started witch plugged into a box mounted on the side of the motor, the box also had a red wire coming out of it going to the cylinoid. The 16box hp did not have this box! So I put the one off the 13hp on the sibe of the 16hp. There is a black and red wire coming out from behind the stater and a yellow. So I connected the red wire from the box to the cylinoid and the yellow wire to the box. What is the red and white wire coming out from under the top caseing for? Can anyone please help?

    Hi,
    If you can furnish model and type of both engines, I can furnish the part number for the correct replacement harness that Briggs has. You have different charging systems. Note: if you hook the wires wrong and supply battery voltage to the armature, you will be replacing it.
