    The door sticker will give you the GVW in #'s, divide by 2000 for tons.

    2 tons plus or minus a bit. It depends on the cars features (2- versus 4-wheel drive, 2- versus 4-door, etc). According to http://www.edmunds.com/ford/explorer/1994/ the 2-door sport model weighed 3844 pounds whereas the 4-door Limited was 4053 pounds.
