How much can I make in a single payment without having taxes taken out?
I am a subcontractor and depending on how much I make on a particular job, I may or may not have taxes taken out of my check? What is the maximum amount that for a paycheck before taxes must be taken out?

If you are a contractor , not an employee, there should not be taxes being taken out.

If the payor is wiling, you CAN have taxes taken out. If not, you must make quarterly estimated tax payments.
