    Hi Chuck,

Apologies, it looks like after submittin the question most of my diagram got cut off?

I live in Alberta, Canada. The deck is on the south side of the house and is approx 6 ft off the ground. I'll try to explain in the diagram below:-

    House 2X10 Ledger Board

7.5 Ft Spacing from House to Inner Beam.

Inner Beam (3) 2X8 SPF #2 Outdoor Wood

Outer Beam (3) 2X8 SPF #2 Outdoor Wood

All the Posts are sitting on 10” Sono Tubes 3-4Ft into the ground sitting on solid rock. I plan to use 16ft Joist with an approx 1ft cantilever.

I have looked at a lot of beam tables and want to make sure the (3) 2X8 Beams will work?

    Thanks

    Hi drendall

    Just a few questions.

Why 2x10 ledger? Are u using lag bolts to attach to house?

    Size of floor joists?

If I calculated correctly, u have 30.8 ft at center girder and 28 ft at outer girder. Is this correct and if so why?

Why the 14.8' and 12' span between center posts?

    Type of siding on house?

Distance from outer posts to end of deck should not be more 3'.

Install flashing under tar paper/house wrap and 1'' over edge of ledger beam. This will keep water from doing damage to beam.

    Chuck
