How do I stop a pump leak with loose packing?
Well pump is leaking at shaft casing, causing pump to loose prime after pump is turned off. Wondering if the packing is either bad or needs to be tightened?

First try to tighten the packing nut. If that doesn't fix the leak, you can try new packing. You can buy teflon or graphite packing at any plumbing supply store .
