I recently had 4 porcelain crowns placed on my front teeth a week ago, but unbeknownst to me I've had the worst experience with discoloration. I traveled to the UK 3 days after the procedure noticing one of the teeth becoming slightly discolored, but the dentist office was close the day I discovered it and I felt all would be OK until I returned back to the states for the permanent teeth. At any rate, the discoloration worsened as days past which led to major embarrassment for the entire trip considering I was there on business. What happened to my million dollar smile that I've decided to invest thousands of dollars? Why did my dentist not advise me on what I should or should not eat before I left the office after the 4 hour procedure? What precautionary measures should I have taken after the procedure? I did call the dentist office while in the UK and she reminded me of staying away from red wines and coffee, but that advice was only told to me after I had a $400 whitening procedure which was days before the temporary crowns procedure...
So, did the red wine and coffee really cause the discoloration or what really happened?
What happened to the million dollar smile that I'm paying a ton of money for and what should I expect from the permanent teeth? I am really nervous at this point, but what else can I do... The assistant advised me to brush with baking soda and a whitening toothpaste while in the UK, but where in the h--- would I find baking soda and whitening toothpaste in the UK? Please shed some light of this horrible, embarrassing and stressful situation...

You can find baking soda in a drug store or grocery store in the UK, same as US. Baking soda is a mild abrasive and should help with the discolouration.
