    How to tell if a female dog is fixed
    Hi, about 9 months Itook my dog to the vet to have her fixed, she is now in heat. Vet asst told me her estergin was just high. If she is fixed, and no longer has parts, how can she be in heat?

    The vet asst. is partially correct about the hormone and this can happen. The lining tissue of the remaining vagina can swell and bleed in response to the hormones, simulating a heat cycle. You may only see this once.
