    Chihuahua puppy ears
    When does a chi pups ears both stand up erect and stay up. Mine is 5 months and they can't make up their mind.. Once there up, then down, now one is up and one is down.. What gives... Is there a set time... I heard that teething could cause this... anyone know? :confused:

    I am much more familiar with German Shepherds. They vary. I even remember a couple of males out of the same litter. One's ears were up at less than 2 months and the other still not up at 7 months. Both were on the same diet, Pro Plan chicken and rice, switching from puppy chow to adult at 4 months. Too much calcium can hurt bone development and likely the ears too. If you are feeding a small breed puppy chow, it may be too rich in calcium. Perhaps switch to an adult chow.
