Do you have to have a pipe vent off a toilet? And why? I just rented office space and the vent pipe off toilet is next to sink in the bathroom I don't like:(

Any fixture with a trap needs a vent. Traps allow water and solis to flow without causing a gurgle and siphon affect that would empty your other drains. It is code.
