    Ford Windstar 2001 transmission problems
Have a 2001 windstar 109,000 miles. It started sifting hard in low gears and hesitated before shifting. I had it back flussed. It shifted good for 2 or 3 days then started bad again. Am I doomed or would changing the filter fix the problem in case the back flussing didn't do a good job.

Yes, try to drop and clean the pan and magnet, change the filter (which may be a chore), and refill with Mercon V. Back flushing an ATX can be dangerous, since it can stir up crud which can seriously clog the filter.

In the future, perform the above procedure every 30,000 miles.
