    leaky shower
    Hi,
I just had my master bathroom remodeled with a new tile shower put in to replace old fiberglass stall shower. Soon after completion, we had dripping coming through the kitchen ceiling, right below the shower itself. The tiler came back, looked at faucet, no leak, cut a hole in kitchen ceiling and it does not appear to be the pipe. He has regrouted and sealed the shower severl times now and after 6 months, it still leaks(slow drip) about every 4 weeks. We have noticed that is seems to leak when it is raining outside. We had our gutters cleaned and it is still randomly leaks. Help!
The water is hard to see where it is coming, it looks like it is running down the side of the rafter...

Has the drain seal been checked by closing off the drain with wet rags. Filling the base with a few inches of water and then watching the kitchen ceiling? Let me know what you find. Good luck, Tom

I read a number of "answers" on this topic, but none seem to cover my type of drain installation. BTW - Tom (speedball1) had a number of nice explanations.
