    Spotting and exercise
    I just have a quick question about spotting during exercise. Long story short, started birth control (aviane) in October of 2011. For the first two months everything was normal, then in November of 2011 I stopped getting my period. I actually had problems with amenorrhea (no period) before going on birth control for about 4 months. OB/GYN wasn't too concerned when I mentioned the first round of amenorrhea since I run quite a bit (40 -45 miles a week). Back to the present, went back to my doctor in March 2012 to renew my birth control (after being on birth control for about 5 months 3 of which I didn't get a period) brought up that I hadn't had a period since November 2011 despite being on birth control. She did a pelvic exam and internal ultrasound and everything looked normal. Said if I hadn't gotten my period by June, see her again. Well, since that last appointment I still haven't had a "normal period" but I did have some heavy spotting twice this month but only while running. After running I would occasionally spot throughout the day, but very, very light. The runs that it happened on weren't overly difficuilt runs and are distances I have done many times before. The runs weren't all that long (probably an hour at most). Also, the two days of spotting while running were not back to back days, they were at least a couple days apart. So I guess my question is is it worth doing the follow - up or is this my new "normal" for periods and what may be causing this? If it helps, I am in my late 20's nowhere near menopause and am absolutely not pregnant.
